Short Story/Poetry   Writing Competition and Workshop

Submission T&Cs

Published   and unpublished writers are welcome, but previously-published authors must check with their publishers to ensure that they are permitted to take part.

Submissions are made by the entrant without expectation of payment or cash prizes.

Each stage of submission must be adhered to completely to qualify: Online Application Form, Payment and  before the closing date of Fri 22nd October 2021 at 23.59 (UK time). It is the requirement of authors outside of the UK to obtain correct information about time differences.   

Work must be original and not plagiarised in any way, otherwise will result in immediate  disqualification (with no refunds).

Work with excessive errors such as spelling and grammar    will not be accepted, but we will be happy to work with you on a one-to-one basis to improve in these areas.   

You may submit more than one story/poem. Each additional entry will cost £10.

We will not tolerate any abuse or bullying within the Facebook group.

The closing date for story/poetry submissions is  Friday 3rd December 2021 at 23.59 (UK time). It is the responsibility of the applicant to check time differences,   submit in a timely manner and ensure that an email is sent to you to confirm receipt. Any queries relating to this can be sent to us at nanowrimo@green-cat.co   - no submissions after this time will be accepted. 

You do not need to participate in the workshop -  You may submit your story/poem(s)   within the same time constraints, at a price of    £10 per submission. There will be an option to choose this within the application form.

The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the judging process.

By entering the competition (by way of paying the required fees), each entrant agrees to all the terms and conditions and competition eligibility criteria.

We reserve the right to refuse any applications.

We will announce the chosen   topic on Friday 15th October. You will have from then until Friday 22nd October  at 23.59 to apply.

The workshop will commence on Mon 1st November, and a link to the Facebook group will be sent to applicants prior to this date. 

We will accept short stories up to 5,000 words or poetry submissions. 

Applications must be written in English, and be submitted digitally as a MS Word document, with a standard font,    which must be saved as: 'YOURNAME_BOOKTITLE_NANOWRIMO21.
